Description: The company a leading national Direct Marketing Agency in the Philadelphia area, is looking for a talented professional to join our System Development team as a Web Designer / Developer.  This individual will be involved in the development and maintenance of cross-browser compliant web sites.  Primary responsibilities will include the designing of the online user experience, and acting as the lead for usability/accessibility testing, validity, and implementation of the presentation layer. The ideal candidate will stay abreast of related developments in the accessibility field, especially as related to ADA sec508, and will guide the company accordingly.  This person will also be responsible for the creation of HTML e-mails and other rich internet based communications.



This person will have a broad range of web interface design and coding skills: hand-coding XHTML, JavaScript and CSS, and manipulation of agency created images to incorporate within web pages. Successful candidates will have an undergraduate degree in computer science, graphic arts, or equivalent work experience; excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills; and meet the following basic job requirements:



•2 years experience in hand-coding HTML, XHTML, CSS and JavaScript.

•Experience with Adobe Fireworks or similar tools.

•Experience with manipulation of graphics files into optimized images targeting web and e-mail media.

•Experience with cross-browser and W3C standards compliant development of XHTML, CSS and JavaScript.

•Experience writing semantic markup.

•Experience with and/or JSP is strongly desired.

•Experience with DHTML and cross-browser DOM is a plus.

•Experience using Adobe Dreamweaver, Flash and ActionScript is a plus.

•Experience with Master Pages and Themes is a plus.

•Experience using Microsoft Expression Web and Expression Design is a plus.

•Experience with C# and SQL Server is a plus.

•Familiarity with Section 508 is a plus.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•Responsible for translating graphical designs into testing prototypes (HTML, Flash or other techniques), graphic file manipulation, web page layout, construction of the presentation layer, and creation of HTML e-mail templates.

•Responsible for browser compatibility testing, standards setting for the presentation layer, and helping to monitor and optimize page performance.

•Works closely with development team to integrate web page user interface with programming code.

•Remains up to date on latest browser and plug-in technology.

•Remains up to date and implements the latest accessibility and standards guidelines.

•Willingness to learn new technologies and development practices.

•Occasionally designs new images.
