Xnews is a newsreader not an image viewer. When Luu made a
concession to allow viewing of single part jpegs he saw no need
to extend it to full image viewer capability. The entire beta
team agreed with this limited function.

However, it is possible to have Xnews automatically save
attachments of specified types and pass them on to specified
applications. Look in Special / Xnews setup. I don't recall
which tab, so you should (wait for it...) RTFM.
