Okay, I seem to have ldconfig and I just ran it.
Are you guys saying that that fancy version of slrn should be able to
find slang2 and therefore install, now? (I ask because it takes some
work renaming files from my current slrn so that they're safe from being
stepped on by a new installation. Last night or whenever I tried to
stall the fancy slrn I had to make those changes and then turn around
and revert them all so that I could get back to running this version.
