While we all make posting mistakes, test groups are the only place to
test. Cancelling posts generally fails. Many servers ignore cancels.
Posts propagate far beyond your server long before any cancel could
reach the server.

Email uses the SMTP, POP or IMAP protocols. It is totally different
from Usenet. Newsgroups use the NNTP protocol. However in regard to
anonymity there are mail to news services one can use. But many Usenet
users filter these out because they have a reputation for being abused.
