The 'readers' are known as 'aggregators'; there are plenty to choose from
< /web?qsrc=167&o=312&l=dir&imgs=&imgc=&imgt=&vidl=&vidt=&q
=rss+aggregator&search=search&dm=all> or < /52n>. I don't
use Windows so I can't make a personal recommendation for that OS.

If your aggregator is set up to look for new articles automatically on
start-up, then it will be trying to contact each of the servers from which
it takes 'feeds'; that will be almost as many internet connections as you
have 'feeds', so it won't be quick! It will also have to create or read a
list of all the articles already fetched or read, so as not to fetch them
again; that too could take a little time if you have a large number of
'feeds'.
