This one wasn't free, but I bought it so long ago that I completely
forget what it cost. But since I don't use it anymore, it was available
for the experiment.
I have had a chance to verify what I said about the dual boot. The
computer in question is definitely a dual boot system. There is a
system that connects to the employer's VPN and won't let us access
anything outside of the allowed network, and there is the user system
that lets us run Xnews, and also lets us connect to ordinary Internet
stuff, but won't let us access anything inside the VPN.
So if you have a single boot setup locked to the VPN, Xnews (or any
thumbable newsreader) won't be of any help unless there's a news
provider available inside the VPN :-)
