Yes.

Personally I don't like to subscribe to mailing lists, as I prefer a
newsreader interface if possible. Personally I don't like web
interfaces like googlegroups which carries the group or the web
interface of gmane which also carries the group^1.

Gmane's newsserver carries the group which gmane usage would allow you
to access the gmane newsserver and the gentoo user newsgroup and also to
post if you first subscribe to the mailing list.

Gmane's newsserver is . The name of the group there is
gmane. . With just that, you can read the mailing
list's posts on the gmane newsserver. Your gmane newsreader account has
to have a good address, but you are protected from spam by gmane's
policies which you can read at gmane.

^1 /gmane. Information about
gmane.
^2 / Spam Control -- There's two main
parts to Gmane spam control. - Identifying and getting rid of incoming
spam. -- This is done through a maze of virus controls, spam software,
audience participation and hard, gruelling work. -- Making sure that
mailing list participants don't get spam. - This is done via address
encryption and TMDA.
