The MS dcom98 package will not install in wine. MS Message says that there
is a newer version installed on the system and I have to uninstall that one
prior to installing the downloaded dcom98. Apparently, wine comes with
dcom98 built in. It can be done though, comment at bottom of this page says
so:

Install native dcom98 & riched20 if you want inline pictures.

My came from my XP Pro SP-2 install and was configed through
the winecfg program to be "native", I put the into the xnews
directory. It is suggested that one setup wine to run as win98 for xnews,
maybe Richard Cohen got his dlls from win98. There are a lot of "How To's"
on this subject which are basically copies of the same thing all over the
net. None of them so far address inline images. Here is one for example:
