In the folder wher XNews is installed,
look for the file: .
Open it in a text editor.
Edit it down to only the following two lines:
% score file for Xnews
% read for instruction
then save it.
make sure you are saving it
as a text file with the extension: .ini
Reload XNews, and see it that fixed the problem.
